TJR178 | Hi Everyone, I'm trying to remove my power steering pump, but I can't find a tool to remove the fluid return line from the pump. It's an 18mm nut, but it's really hard to get at with any tool that I have. If I can get this line off, I can remove the pump and change out my failed pulley. Can anyone suggest anything? Thanks! |
TJR178 | FYI, #2 is what I'm talking about. |

TJR178 | Thanks, Robin. I actually tried those, but due to the fact that there is no room for the wrench to fit/turn, they didn't work. I was just thinking about trying a crows foot wrench on a rachet. I'm going to try that today once I go get a set of crows feet. |
u00tjs2 | Search for; Flare nut wrench @ Sears, Amazon or??? A Crows foot might be easiest to access. Good luck ------------------ |
TJR178 | Update: I managed to remove the nut last night with this wonder tool called a crescent wrench. I hate using these things, but it worked with no damage to the nut. |
TJR178 | Here's the bad pulley as reference. You can see where the wheel was spinning on the boss causing the rattling, which was getting worse:
